THINGS TO DO AT HOME DURING THE QUARANTINE

Talk about a life changer. At the beginning of March I had so many plans for the following months and so many exciting brand collaborations I was going to tackle. To name a few, I had two vacations planned, one with friends and another with family along with a handful of businesses trips and amazing experiences in my city. Needless to say, what seemed to be one of the fastest growth years of my life, slowly changed to feel more like a stay-at-home summer vacation. You know the ones we had when we were very young and were at the mercy of our parents to take us to do something fun. Yes, that is life right now. So how do you kill time and remain sane during all the madness that is going on in the world? Here is my favorite list. Let me know if this helped and if you have any other ideas!

Remain Positive

I am making this one number one, because without a positive life outcome, it doesn’t matter what you do to spend the time at home, you will find a reason to think that you are miserable. A reason to find what you are doing boring. A reason to hate your life and a reason to not waste your time doing anything at all making you MORE BORED. If you are bored, you are probably being boring.

Create a New Routine

When you are locked up at home it is easy to treat it as a vacation or a lazy weekend and not end up doing any of the things you used to do to keep sane, take care of yourself and your body. You might not be able to go to the gym in the morning anymore but that doesn’t mean you can’t start your day off early and off to a great start with a great Youtube workout. There are so many to choose from!

My new mix includes: Cardio, dumbbells, Yoga, Boxing, Resistance Bands and MORE. Many of these videos you can search youtube by the length of the workout you want to do and have the option to do them with equipment or no equipment. So there really is no excuse to be bored or to not be able to do a workout. Again, if you are bored.. you are boring.

Eating is another thing that is likely to change when we are stuck at home. At first things feel like a honeymoon vacation and it is easy to just go to the kitchen and eat all of your favorite things. How do you avoid this? Well, set a routine. Figure out what times you will be eating and limit snacking. Stock up on your favorite healthy foods and opt to eat that first before digging for potato chips.

Lastly, make sure to respect your sleeping schedule. Just because you have nowhere to go, that doesn’t mean you should stay up until 3 in the morning and wake up at noon. The more normal you treat your new normal the more normal it will feel.

Do the things you never had time to do

For me this includes a lot of the fun things you would do at a sleepover.

  1. Face masks (actual face taking care of masks)
  2. Experimenting with different ways to take care of your hair
  3. Sampling hair styles
  4. Learn how to do your nails
  5. Organize your closet
  6. Meditate
  7. Scrapbook
  8. Organize your photos
  9. clean out your closet and home
  10. Learn something new
  11. Paint
  12. Read
  13. Write
  14. Reconnect with people
  15. Call your grandparents
  16. Start your new side hustle
  17. Fall in love

& Many Many More.
